Some of the must watch Woman Centric Bollywood Movies are:
  1.  Mother India :  The epic melodrama directed by Mehboob Khan and starring Nargis Datt ,Sunil Datt, Rajendra Kumar And Raaj Kumar released in 1957. The movie was a remake of Mehboob Khan's 1940 released movie 'Aurat'. The story revolves around the village woman who in absence of her husband struggles to raise her sons and survive against cunning money lender amidst many troubles. 'Nargis Datt' received Film-fare Award for best actress for her role and movie won Film fare Award for best movie. As per Boxofficeindia.com Mother India collected 40 million INR.
  2.  Andhi :  It is a 1975 political drama film directed by Gulzar and starring Sanjeev Kumar  and Suchitra Sen. It was rumoured that the movie was based on the relationship between Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her husband. The movie is based on a meeting of estranged couple after several years when wife (Suchtra Sen) now a leading politician happens to stay in a hotel run by her husband during election campaign. The movie won Film fare Best (Critics) award where as Suchitra sen was nominated as Best Actor.
  3.  The Dirty Picture : It is a Indian biographical drama inspired by the real life story of South Indian bold Actress Silk Smitha. The movie released in 2011 was directed by Milan Luthria and starring Vidya Balan, Emran Hashmi, Naseeruddin Shah and Tusshar Kapoor. The movie won three national awards including Best Actress for Vidya Balan ,  six screen and three Filmfare awards.
  4.  Queen : The movie is a comedy drama starring Kangana Ranaut, Raajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon. The movie is one of the few movies which collected more in second weekend than first. Movie won six awards at 60th Film fare awards including best Actress for Kangana Ranaut. 
  5. Chandni Bar :  The movie released in 2001 directed by one of the most talented director Madhur Bhandarkar starring Tabu, Atul kulkarni, Rajpal Yadav and others. The story revolvs around the life of young village woman whose family is killed in communal riots.She moves to Mumbai with her uncle, the only family member she has left. They are desperately poor and her uncle persuades her to become a bar girl at Chandni Bar. Tabu won National Award for her role.
